Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa, located in Northeast Tanzania, near the Kenya border. Kilimanjaro is an extinct volcano, and is one of the most massive in the world. It towers 15,000 feet above the surrounding arid plains, and 2.5 square miles of its surface are over 18,500 feet. Beneath its ice dome, snow extends down long gullies that have been eroded in the mountain sides.

DAY 1 You will be collected from Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO) and will be transferred to the Marangu Hotel in Moshi at the slopes of Mt. Kilimanjaro for dinner and overnight.

DAY 2 Morning walk through the dense Kilimajaro forest. The night will be spent at Mandera Hut (2700 meters).

DAY 3 Climb to Horombo Hut, where you will spend the night. (3720 meters).

DAY 4 Gentle ascent - to avoid mountain sickness.

DAY 5 After an early breakfast, ascend to Kibo Hut. (5680 meters).

DAY 6 Final ascent to the summit - "Uhuru Peak" (5895 meters). Overnight will be at Horombo Hut.

DAY 7 Morning descend to Marangu gate where you will be met and transferred to the Marangu Hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 8 After breakfast depart for your next destination
