MOUNTAIN CLIMBING |
MT KENYA
This ancient volcanic mountain lies astride the equator and rises to a height of 5199m. Your ascent takes you through lush rain forest on the lower slopes, the bamboo belt above followed by moorland which leads to the alpine belt and glaciated summit. Tarns of crystal clear water surrounded by giant groundsel plants add to this magic. The two main summits, Batian and Nelion, are accessible to skilled mountaineers. The western approach is to the third highest peak, Point Lenana at 4985m is the quickest, and is reachable by walking.
MT KILIMANJARO
When early European explorers claimed to have seen snow in the middle of Africa, they were received home with disbelief and ridicule. Kilimanjaro is Africa's highest mountain, and it towers far above the flat plains below. Its snow-capped peaks can be seen from hundreds of miles away, and an ascent is an experience not to be forgotten.

WHITE WATER RAFTING |
TANA RIVER
Due to the high quality of the white water sections, the prolific bird life and the natural beauty of the whole area, along with its ease of access from Nairobi (just 95km), this is the most popular area for white water rafting and scenic float trips. The white water rafting starts some 1.5km above the town of Sagana, and ends at a campsite some 16km down stream. The scenic float trip starts from the campsite and takes in 12km of calm water down to the barrage close to the main road back to Nairobi. Enquire Now
MATHIOYA RIVER
With a runable distance of about 30km. and with over 500m of descent, this river offers some of the most demanding and continuous White water to be found in Kenya. Because the Muthoya is a narrow, low volume river, the water is not particularly "big". However it is fast flowing and many of the rapids are technically very difficult. (class IV and V). There are numerous holes and hydraulics. Fallen trees are another potential hazard! Enquire Now |
