Malindi, historical arabic town and the original East African beach destination.
Malindi is the second largest city on the Kenyan Coast and is most famous for the Malindi Marine National Park and deep-sea fishing. Malindi has a strong Italian influence from old-time settlers. Trendy boutiques, rustic restaurants, outdoor markets, ancient historical sights and exclusive beach resorts located alongside tropical forests and beaches are all part of what makes Malindi such a popular destination.
Malindi is one of the best locations on the Kenyan coast for surfing. The outer reefs of Malindi have a large swell throughout the year, peaking in June through to September, when seasonal monsoon rains result in formidable breakers.
There are direct flights from Nairobi to Malindi with Air Kenya.
