GPL Mega Safari - Kenya and Tanzania
 

Are you looking for safari tours that visit both Tanzania and Kenya? This great holiday safari includes East Africa's best highlights. A flight to Kenya and Tanzania is a long haul journey for most people and many people like to discover both destinations on the same safari. Kenya has traditionally been the more established destination, while Tanzania is regarded as one of Africa 's newest and most exciting safari destinations.

Day 1:
After breakfast, depart for the dramatic semi-arid scrub land of the
Northern Frontier. Arrival in Samburu will be by lunch time. After lunch
embark on a game drive to sight resident wildlife species like the
Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy's Zebra, Beisa Oryx and the Blue-necked Somali
Ostrich that are rare elsewhere in the country. Dinner and overnight will be
at the spectacular lodge or tented camp.

Day 2:
Today you will spend the full day in the Samburu National Park. You will
have early morning and evening game drives. All your meals and overnight
will be at your lodge / tented camp.

Day 3:
After breakfast depart for Sweetwaters Tented Camp - a luxury tented camp
set in a 22,000 acre Rhino sanctuary on the Ol Pejeta ranch. Sweetwaters
boasts wonderful views of Mt. Kenya and also has an abundance of wildlife.
In the afternoon you may embark on a game drive where you will be taken to
see the chimpanzees. Sweetwaters is the only destination in Kenya that hosts
a chimpanzee sanctuary. Dinner and overnight will be at the Camp.

Day 4:
After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru. Arrival will be in time for lunch at
your lodge, located inside the Lake Nakuru National Park. In the afternoon
you will embark on a game drive where you will have the opportunity to spot
leopards, rhino and the famous pink flamingos as well as a variety of other
wildlife. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 5:
After breakfast depart for Masai Mara - the land of vast migrating animals.
Arrival will be in time for lunch. After lunch embark on a game drive.
Dinner and overnight at a splendid lodge / tented camp.

Day 6:
Full day in Masai Mara with early morning and evening game drive. Today
while you explore one of the most famous and beautiful National Parks in the
world, you will have the opportunity to spot the Big Five with their
associated predators which include the Buffalo, Rhino, Hippopotamus, Oribi,
Warthogs, Thompson's Gazelles, Zebra, Hartebeest among many others. All
meals and overnight at your lodge / camp

Day 7:
After a leisurely breakfast, return to Nairobi. Upon arrival in Nairobi you
will be transferred to a hotel where you will spend the night. The remainder
of the day will be at your leisure and we would be glad to offer you with
some suggestions as to how you could best spend this day.

Day 8:
After an early breakfast, you will be collected by your shuttle bus from the
hotel at approximately 07:30 am, and will depart for Arusha. Arrival will be
in time for a delicious lunch at the Impala Hotel. Following lunch you will
drive towards Ngorongoro. Arrival the at one of the fabulous Lodges,
situated on the rim of the crater will be in time for dinner and overnight
stay. Ngorongoro was declared a World Heritage site in 1978 in recognition
of its beauty and importance. The crater has an area of 265 sq. km. All of
the big game: lions, rhino, elephants can be seen here.

Day 9:
After breakfast descend 610m into the crater floor, from a height of 2,286m
for a full day tour. You will return to your Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 10:
After breakfast depart for the Serengeti National Park, via the Olduvai
Gorge - "the Cradle of Mankind". Here, Mary and Louis Leakey found
fossilized remains of man's oldest ancestors. Additionally, fossil remains
of 35 humans and 150 species of mammals were found from here. Arrival at
your Lodge will be in time for dinner and overnight.

Day 11:
After breakfast, drive to the Serengeti Plains, the most famous of
Tanzania's National Parks. It is most well-known for the annual migration
which takes place across the great savannah plains. It is a phenomenal
sight, thousands and thousands of wildebeest as far as the eye can see. You
will return back to your Lodge for lunch. After a couple of hours rest,
embark on another game drive. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

Day 12:
After breakfast depart for Lake Manyara, arriving at your lodge in time for
lunch. Following your meal depart on a game drive. Lake Manyara National
Park is situated spectacularly between the Great Rift Valley Escarpment and
Lake Manyara. During a game drive animals such as elephants and hippo can be
seen. Bird life, both resident and migratory, is prominent in the Park. At
certain times of the year the lake is home to thousands of flamingoes.

Day 13:
After breakfast depart for Nairobi via Arusha where you will have lunch
